Eric C Nino, MD, FACEP
Dr Eric Nino has been practicing medicine in Hawaii for over 10 years. Born in Texas and raised in California, he attended the esteemed Revelle College at the University of California at San Diego as an undergraduate where he earned a bachelor’s of science in Biochemistry/Cell Biology. Eric went on to study medicine at the prestigious Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, completing his M.D. in 4 years. He then trained and specialized in emergency medicine at King/Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. It was during this time that he began research in hyperbaric medicine, initially studying the effects of hyperbaric oxygen on crush injuries and gunshot wounds.
Eric first became fascinated with the promising healing capabilities of hyperbaric oxygen after becoming an advanced open water SCUBA diver with the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI). After studying it’s use in emergency medicine for life threatening conditions such as diving accidents and carbon monoxide poisoning, he discovered it’s tremendous therapeutic benefits for wound care, radiation tissue damage, traumatic brain injuries, and high frequency hearing loss, among other conditions. He began work at the Hyperbaric Medicine Center as chief consultant starting in 2013 and is known for his warm and calm demeanor, bedside manner, and commitment to patient care.
Residing on Oahu for 10 years, “Dr Eric” continues to practice emergency medicine along with hyperbaric medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Physicians and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. Eric has volunteered and worked as a clinical instructor and preceptor for A.T. Stills School of Medicine and the University of South Alabama School of Nursing. He loves international travel, diving, organic gardening, cooking, Latin American dancing and sports and is the cofounder of thesoccerinsiders.com
